AME- Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Summary:
The AME will provide technical support for the manufacturing departments.  They will work in a team-oriented environment to reduce scrap, improve quality, safety, etc.  Successful candidate must be hands-on with equipment and machinery.  Work with Sales and Finance during price buildup.
  • Lead new quotation activities by providing cost estimates.
  • Cost, evaluate product specifications of components and assemblies in close.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods for maximum efficiency.
  • Develop standard procedures to improve manufacture processes and to reduce overall cost.
  • Assists in initiating and evaluating cost studies, product suggestions and value analyses.
  • Directs the design, development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Provides technical assistance for plant operations.
  • Coordinates activities of all resource departments.
  • Ensure design to manufacturing through concurrent engineering activities with the product engineers.
  • Manage the Prototype Build and Delivery and Analysis.
  • Implement all changes related to production system and/or related to the product.
  • Study, develop in detail, validate, release and set-up the complete Production System of the program: equipment, tool interfaces, layout, process flow charts, material, etc.
  • Ensure the achievement of Process and Equipment FMEA.
  • Manage documents: P-FMEA, capacity study, time analysis (MTM), layout, budget, etc.
  • Manage the Production Part Approval.
  • Report manufacturing risks analysis and their associated action plans/opportunities.
  • Support manufacturing sites to support the launch of new programs.
  • Ensure that manufacturing milestones are passed successfully and on time.
  • Work with vendors to understand and determine product specifications.
Engineer Education/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering is required.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in plant operations including manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Good understanding of P&L and basic financial rules (capital vs tooling vs expense, costing, investments).
  • Experience in Program launch with a plant.
  • Proven technical skills on product and process.
  • Ability to manage functional plant Manufacturing Engineering network.
  • Experience in Program launch with an automotive manufacturing plant.
  • Must have Auto CAD experience.
