The Logistics/Distribution Manager, manages and coordinates traffic, warehouse and distribution, activities of the organization by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Including special projects, programs and developmental activities.
  • Develops methods and procedures for transportation of raw materials to processing and production areas and transportation of finished goods to customers, warehouses, or other storage facilities.
  • Maintains accurate inventories of finished goods and raw goods components.
  • Determines most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation, in-bound and out-bound.
  • Implements and advise on component presentation devices in support of Lean practices, policies and procedures.
  • Manages scheduling of shipments and notifies concerned departments and customers of deviation of scheduled arrival or delivery dates.
  • Develops and implements logistics operation methods and procedures to eliminate operation problems.  Engage in continuous improvement.
  • Initiates investigation into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance.
  • Effectively supports manufacturing by timely delivery of materials from storage locations to production lines.
  • Conducts studies in areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards.
  • Initiates changes designed to improve control and efficiency of Logistics Department.
  • Negotiates and contracts for leasing of transportation equipment or property.
  • Prepares department budget and controls spending within budget levels.
  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipment, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Assures safe working environment and look into continuous improvement in processes.
  •  Bachelor Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or Similar.
  • Five to 10 years of Logistics/Distribution experience.
  • Logistics/Distribution experience out of a manufacturing environment.
