Through the Production Supervisors, the incumbent supervises the manufacturing processes. The Production Manager coordinates the various operations to ensure proper work flow through the plant and is responsible for the quantity and quality of work. The incumbent manages the production schedules, monitors operating costs and ensures employee safety in the manufacture of all products. The incumbent establishes budgets on labor (including indirect) and operating costs for management approval. This person will lead safety and lean manufacturing activities through out the facility.
Meet daily production goals under established safety and quality standards.
Select, train and supervise Production Supervisors and coordinate the activities within the departments on up to three separate shifts.
Plan labor requirements for production schedules; work closely with production control to assure timely changes and efficient use of people and equipment; work with Production Supervisors on departmental scheduling.
Control the manufacturing process according to approved methods and quality standards (properly bonded, free of internal contamination); assure that units are within standard costs.
Mentors the Production Team in 5S to ensure continuing development and use of the 5S principles throughout the facility.
This position has the authority to stop the process at any time in order to investigate a product, process, Environmental or Occupational Safety and Health Management System or Quality System nonconformance or to prevent suspect product from further processing. In addition, they are authorized to initiate action to prevent occurrence of nonconformance, identify and record problems, recommend solution to nonconformance found within their control, and to verify the implementation of solutions.
BS/BA in Industrial Management, Engineering or Business required.
LEAN experience in continuous improvement/six sigma/lean manufacturing
5+ years of manufacturing or supervisory experience.
Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff preferred.
Proficient in MS Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
Ability to travel occasionally.
Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
Must be eligible to work in the US without VISA sponsorship. Not eligible for VA/VN assignment
