Senior Mechanical Engineer

Summary of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
Mechanical Engineer with R&D and testing experience is required to play a key role in the designing of complex systems, machinery, equipment, and instrumentation that will interface using software for one of our clients in the Ohio. This client is a cutting-edge manufacturer of Industrial products for low-volume/high-mix clients. In this position, you will be responsible for research, design and test their mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. If you have strong experience in research, design and testing the mechanical and electromechanical products and systems along with advanced design engineering capabilities, then this position is well suited to you.

Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
  • Research, design, and test mechanical and electromechanical products and systems
  • Collaborate with the team for fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of products and systems
  • Analyze customer design proposals, prototypes, specifications and manuals to determine the feasibility of designs
  • Perform tolerance stack-ups, loading calculations and other analysis
  • Design complex systems, machinery, equipment, and instrumentation that will interface using software
  • Fabricate test control apparatus and equipment and develop procedures for testing products or systems
  • Direct fabrication and installation activities to ensure conformity to engineering design, safety requirements and customer specifications
  • Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment
  • Evaluate field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions

Qualifications of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
  • BS in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with leadership skills
  • Ability to test and troubleshoot units in the field
  • Advanced Design Engineering capabilities with forward-thinking design concepts
  • Experience in performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Ability to understand and perform structural computations
  • Knowledge of stress and load analysis, Computer Aided Design Software- SolidWorks and/or CATIA

Compensations of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 /year, depending on experience

Type:  Direct-Hire
Travel:  5-10%, as and when required
