The Procurement Project Manager supports program launch and product growth through the development of procurement project plans. This role manages product life cycle by maintaining the contractual relationship with the supply chain, cost control and reduction, and price management of products.
Develop procurement project plans for new product launches, for cost-down projects and for escalation/resourcing projects.
Execute procurement project plans while maintaining costs and developing countermeasures and actions needed to meet costs.
Maintain and provide transparency to current material costs.
Develop countermeasures and actions to achieve unmet program cost targets.
Obtain quotes, identify total costs and award business based on sound, total cost analysis.
Effectively engage commodity manager when a new resource is required.
Manage the supplier in loading process as needed.
Match part and program requirements with established suppliers, following commodity strategies.
Award business based on the best total cost in support of the established commodity strategy.
Negotiate tooling agreements.
Review and approve tooling and tooling payments.
Define total capacity planning volumes. Negotiate minimums and maximums with suppliers.
Manage launch timelines.
Manage deviations to cost, quality and timing during launch.
Provide clear and concise program status and transparency to the purchasing team and to the launch teams.
Maintain contractual relationship with the supply chain.
Manage cost control and reduction throughout life cycle of product.
Manage price for a product throughout life cycle.
Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, or similar related degree.
Five or more years of Purchasing Experience in Automotive Manufacturing.
Product Launch Procurement Experience.
