Job Summary of the Product Design Leader- Vision:

Product Design Leader with Vision systems experience is required to manage the product development team for a vision based automotive safety product for one of our clients in Michigan area. In this position you will be responsible for defining the handover package from a platform design to application team and able to manage issue feedback and define if they are platform or application issues and provide proper support mechanism. You will be involved in the project starting from requirement definition to manufacturing launch. This client is a leader in advanced vehicle safety systems and offering offering significant future opportunities to break into new technologies.

Responsibilities of the Product Design Leader- Vision:

Mange the Product Development team for the development of the automotive safety products and define the guidelines.
Act as a primary technical contact for the customer and Product Development Team
Delivery of design work products per defined RASIC and work product plan which includes various types of analysis such as FMEA, FTA, WCA, Testability, Requirement Bilateral Traceability etc.
Read, interpret and document customer specifications and ensure they are incorporated into the product design
Involve in the development of mechanical, electrical, and software domain and manufacturing technical requirements and specifications
Ensure manufacturing in a robust process and test and analysis coverage validates the design
Provide development work plan to the Project Manager and assist Project Team Lead in deliverables
Manage engineering part release and change control
Provide solutions for technical issues related to customer and product demand
Perform failure analysis and present to the internal and external customers
Ensure proper internal processes and procedures are followed while working with the Engineering Line Managers
Participate in requirement and design reviews when required.
Evaluate change requests, analyze issues, and define risks to be managed through the development cycle
Identify or propose product process or infrastructure improvements
Present current status, relevant data and constructive opinion in meetings and exemplify consensus building and team-focused behavior
Interface with product development teams located in various geographical locations
Work with product planning and sales team to provide technical design review material and RFQ feedback for their defined product

Qualifications of the Product Design Leader- Vision:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Masters preferred.
Atleast 8 years of experience in the design, manufacture and/or testing of automotive products
Electronics experience required, Vision product experience is a plus
MUST be skilled in apply advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts in the development of automotive safety systems.
Ability to understand newest technology in test vehicles, and comfortable driving such vehicles for testing
Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO26262 is a MUST
Understanding of customer requirements and meeting the deliverables expectations is preferred
Ability to lead a large, technical team is preferred
Manufacturing & quality experience in automotive industry preferred

Compensation of the Product Design Leader- Vision:
Salary Range: $115,000-130,000/year, depending on experience

Travel: As and when required
