Our client is the world's largest supplier of GSE (Ground Support Equipment) and airport-related equipment replacement parts with operations in The United States, Canada, Chile, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Peru, South Africa, The Netherlands, and The United Kingdom. The company supplies replacement parts and accessories for all types and brands of GSE. In addition, they provide supply chain management, on site supply services, single source supply, logistics solutions, engineering solutions and other cost reduction programs.

This Product Manager will be based in Melville, NY and work side by side with other Product Managers and will liaison between the Executive Management, Sales, Engineering, Sourcing, and Purchasing teams.  There is opportunity for growth to oversee all Product Managers.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Direct contact with customers, suppliers, and factories in order to manage specific product lines
  • Evaluate customer needs and make recommendations
  • Work with the sales team to understand the needs of customers, what problems they have, and how they make buying decisions
  • Meet or exceed company performance standing by providing a high level of quality customer service and market awareness
  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from planning to market
  • Specify market requirements for products through market research supported by visits to customers and non-customers
  • Manage the development of marketing content to accelerate the customer buying process
 
 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Experience with mechanical products a MUST
  • Experience with heavy-duty mobile equipment
  • Experience with hydraulics, drivetrain, electrical components
  • Knowledge of mechanical products, including specifications, applications, and capabilities
  • Must have a strong mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Advanced Excel skills a must, strong working knowledge of databases such as Access a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, or strong mechanical aptitude with a business degree
  • Must be highly analytical and detail oriented
  • A strong leadership style, entrenched in ownership, passion, teamwork, innovation, and collaboration
  • Must have ability for domestic and international travel
