RM Schulte and Associates, one of the automotive industries’ leading search firms has been selected to lead a search in the Lima, OH area for a Quality Engineer.


Summary:  Responsibilities include handling quality assurance activities relating to the customer and internal processes, development of new product, prevention analysis and on-going development of continuous improvement methods and programs.  Must provide strong leadership and communication within and outside the department.
 

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Problem analysis and mistake proofing countermeasure investigation and evaluation
  • Review and evaluate process changes
  • Work to resolve internal and customer quality concerns by facilitating activity with Customer QAE, manufacturing and engineering personnel
  • Ensure clear quality standards are in place (Key Quality Check Standard, Critical Process Check Standards, Daily Production and Quality Standard, QA Data Sheets).
  • Perform periodic product and process audits and evaluate the ability of the process to produce good parts
  • Communicate with manufacturing personnel on internal findings and follow-up with managers and Team Leaders on countermeasure effectiveness
  • Ensure that department reports and distribution are timely and accurate for both within and outside the department and company
  • Assist Team Leaders in training Associates on key quality checks
  • Develop test equipment and fixtures for new programs; identify continuous improvement ideas for testing machines/fixtures/procedures on current and new products
  • Communicate on quality related problems and projects; facilitate problem identification, containment and resolution between companies
  • Support IQC (Initial Quality Confirmation) activity with daily review and follow-up coordination with the Customer QAE
  • Participate in and support QA Target Management activities
 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering) or the equivalent training and experience
  • Ability to understand part function and manufacturing processes
  • Project planning and management
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills 
  • System and process evaluation skills
  • Ability to determine process improvement for Kaizen activity and/or countermeasure activity
  • Ability to lead countermeasure and kaizen teams
  • Ability to travel, sometimes with short notice
