Software Embedded Design Engineer’s main job responsibilities are for the entire software development cycle as well as specific software development for Power Electronics: our Core electronics product areas: Power Electronics / Connectivity Charging and Sensors.

Our Client Company, a global Tier One Electronics and Electro-mechanical supplier to the automotive industry is currently recruiting an experienced innovative Embedded Software Engineer for our metro Detroit office to support key electronics product growth.  Our Client Company is a tier-1 supplier to all major automotive OEMs Globally.
The Software Embedded Design Engineer’s main job responsibilities will cover the entire software development cycle as well as specific software development for automotive products.
  • Actively participate to the entire software development cycle for new product.
    • Specification, Architecture, Design, coding, Unit testing, Functional testing.
  • Develop the embedded software project by following industry and automotive standards
  • Promote architecture and design re-use.
  • Recommend the use of software third party.
  • Provide guideline and support for hardware component selection.
  • Actively participate to the existing product improvement.
  • Actively participate in hardware reviews.
  • Accountable for embedded software project milestones.
  • Work closely with customer during product development.
  • Knowledge of embedded software development tools and languages such as C and Assembly.
  • Knowledge of micro-controllers such as ARM, Microchip, and NXP
  • Knowledge of CAN and LIN communication.
  • Knowledge of software configuration tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, transducers, sensors, data acquisition, and laboratory equipment.
  • Good troubleshooter, problem solver and hands on skills.
  • Knowledge of automotive software development standards, such as CMMI and ASPICE
Assets Must Have:                                                               
  • Knowledge of DFMEA and control plans.
  • C++
  • Functional safety and ISO-26262
Required Experience                                                          
  • 8 years minimum experience in embedded software design
  • 3 years minimum automotive experience
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
