Plant SQE Summary:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining plant specific documentation and records to ensure compliance with TS16949 standards and the delivery of product to the Customer which meets specifications.
Responsible for all quality issues related to vendors/ suppliers of materials, products or services.
Assess potential new suppliers and work with suppliers to develop and improve entire supply chain.
Plant SQE Duties & Responsibilities:
Validate PPAP submission from Supplier.
Manage Internal and External quality concerns, pareto analysis of defects, etc.
Interact with vendors to complete their PPAP submissions.
Utilize core AIAG quality tools (Control Plan, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC) to resolve quality concerns.
Coordinate with Materials and Production departments to insure effective, on-time, implementation of engineering changes.
Champion and Monitor Supplier key deliverables per control plan.
Assists with continuous improvement activities, such as S.P.C. and capability studies.
Ensure Quality Alerts posted per supplier / customer concerns.
Coordinate containment of defects per supplier / customer defects.
Manage/interface customer quality system.
Address supplier quality issues and manage Quality hold area.
Champion the development and maintenance of Control Plans, PFMEA's and other quality documents as required.
Reviews and decides the disposition of products placed on hold.
Organizes necessary rework/sorting operations.
Assists with resolving internal and external quality problems and with implementation of corrective actions.
Creates, reviews, and updates job books, Control Plans, PFMEA's, etc to ensure proper documentation to set standards and customer product specifications.
Utilize quality problem solving techniques such as 8D, 5Why, etc.
Handle Customer and Supplier concerns in appropriate manner.
Performs audits to support plant function.
Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
Follows safety regulations and enforces compliance with company safety rules and regulations.
Knowledge of TS16949 Quality Systems.
Automotive experience required.
Working knowledge of measuring equipment.
Exceptional communications skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
