Job Description
Plant SQE Summary:
  • The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining plant specific documentation and records to ensure compliance with TS16949 standards and the delivery of product to the Customer which meets specifications. 
  • Responsible for all quality issues related to vendors/ suppliers of materials, products or services.  
  • Assess potential new suppliers and work with suppliers to develop and improve entire supply chain.
Plant SQE Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Validate PPAP submission from Supplier.  
  • Manage Internal and External quality concerns, pareto analysis of defects, etc.
  • Interact with vendors to complete their PPAP submissions. 
  • Utilize core AIAG quality tools (Control Plan, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC) to resolve quality concerns.
  • Coordinate with Materials and Production departments to insure effective, on-time, implementation of engineering changes.
  • Champion and Monitor Supplier key deliverables per control plan.
  • Assists with continuous improvement activities, such as S.P.C. and capability studies.
  • Ensure Quality Alerts posted per supplier / customer concerns.
  • Coordinate containment of defects per supplier / customer defects.
  • Manage/interface customer quality system.
  • Address supplier quality issues and manage Quality hold area.
  • Champion the development and maintenance of Control Plans, PFMEA's and other quality documents as required.
  • Reviews and decides the disposition of products placed on hold.
  • Organizes necessary rework/sorting operations.
  • Assists with resolving internal and external quality problems and with implementation of corrective actions.
  • Creates, reviews, and updates job books, Control Plans, PFMEA's, etc to ensure proper documentation to set standards and customer product specifications.
  • Utilize quality problem solving techniques such as 8D, 5Why, etc.
  • Handle Customer and Supplier concerns in appropriate manner.
  • Performs audits to support plant function.
  • Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
  • Follows safety regulations and enforces compliance with company safety rules and regulations. 
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of TS16949 Quality Systems.
  • Automotive experience required.
  • Working knowledge of measuring equipment.
  • Results oriented.
  • Exceptional communications skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
